E. Dale Abel, MD, PhD to deliver lecture at the National Institutes of Health

Dr. Abel, Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine and Director of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center, has been selected to deliver the annual "Astute Clinician Lecture" in the NIH Director's lecture series at the National Institutes of Health on February 7th.  This annual lecture honors a U.S. scientist who has observed an unusual occurrence, and by investigating it, has opened an important new avenue of research.  The lectureship exemplifies how astute clinical observations can lead to innovative research.  

Dr. Abel's presentation will be on "Sugar and the beating heart - the conundrum of heart failure in diabetes".  More about Dr. Abel's research.
